    1. sit in a comfortable position .

eg. Padmasana , Siddasana ,Sukhasana, vajrasana, siddayoni asana

    1. Spine should be straight ( steady body makes a steady mind )
    2. Love for the God

    (sukha purvaka pranayama )

    1. One should face to east or north because SURYA BHAGAWAN is in the east and HIMALAYA’S SADHUS in the north
    2. One may also sit infront of Istadevatas
    3. One can concentrate in TRIKUTTI i.e. in between two eye brows.
    4. Repetition of the name of GOD is known as JAPA which is used for getting concentration before Meditation . this again of two types i.e. 1, Japa sahita Dhyana 2, Japa rahita Dhyana
    5. Trataka : It is a fixed way of meditation , it needs a time of 3-6 months practice

    A. Meditator

    B. Object of meditation ,

    C. Process of meditation to nirvikalpa samadhi

Ex. Seeing Lord Krishna from feet to top & remembering his

    life’s stories

    9. One should avoid south direction .

    10. One should not meditate on evil things . ex. You should not meditate on snake ,if you do that you will become snake in the next birth .

According to Bhagavad Gita -what you think about during your death time will continue to the next birth . “punarapi jananum punarapi maranum” – Sankara charya .

    PROCESS OF MEDITATION :

    • During meditation one may get different colours like blue, green, sun, moon etc. are the positive indication of meditation .

Sometimes ,Some internal sounds are also heard like musical tones – of veena ,mrudangam , or sounds of thunder .

    · You may also get the vision of saints like vyasa ,kapila , etc who will give their blessing to us . during this time there is no consciousness of external world (time factor ).breathing slows down ,and will observe a natural kumbaka , you will have the peace and joy of mind ,body and both becomes light – which is known as nirvikalpa samadhi .

    SAMASYAS OF MEDITATION.

    • In the morning one feels drowsy due to thamasic nature , to avoid this you should take less food in the night . samasyas of meditation are like fear, doubtfulness or memories of the past- they have come only to go away so keep continue your meditation .lethargy or lazyness should not come while you are in meditation , should not postpone it .
    • To over come these samasyas one should do meditation in early morning i.e. brahmamuhurtum which is good time to do meditation or one can also practice it in the evenings also.
    • One should do meditation at same time & at same place because vibration& calmness remains in the same place where we have meditated previously , and

    · The asana in which we are meditating should also be the same every time which will enhances the meditation , regularity is must ,practicing Astanga yoga – purity of mind , selfless service . Do good be good , try to remember GOD always in our thoughts , all these will aid us to reach final stages of meditation i.e. nirvikalpa samadhi .

    · Do not have too many desires , too many desires will disturb the concentration .

    · Avoid tamasic & rajasic foods which will makes you sleepy , and tensed , also avoid intoxicated foods , too much tamarind ,onion is worst than meat, fish .

    · One should have good health .

    · One should have little detachment of life
