OBESITY FACTS:-

ONE  IS  CONSIDERED  TO BE OBESE  IF  HIS  WEIGHT  EXCEEDS  BY  9 TO 10 KGS OF  HIS  IDEAL  WEIGHT.

OBESITY  OCCURS  IN  PEOPLE  WHOSE  FOOD  INTAKE  EXCEEDS  THE  ENERGY  REQUIREMENTS  OF  THE  BODY  FOR  PHYSICAL  ACTIVITY  AND  GROWTH ,  WHICH  ACCUMULATES  IN  ADIPOSE  TISSUE ,  STORED  ALL  OVER  THE  BODY  OR  MAY  BE  LOCALISED  IN  CERTAIN  PARTS  OF  THE  BODY.

HARMONES  FROM  PITUTARY  ,  THYROID , ADRENAL  GLANDS  ALONG  WITH  INSULIN   AND  SEX  HARMONES  HAVE  AN  IMPORTANT  ROLE  IN  REGULATING  FAT  METABOLISM.

" IF ONE BEARS THE HUNGER , LOSES WEIGHT. IF ONE SATISFIES THE HUNGER , PUTS ON WEIGHT WITH ANY WEIGHT REDUCTION REGIMEN "

PHYSICAL  ACTIVITY   ON  ACCOUNT  OF  PROFESSIONAL  OR  DOMESTIC  REASONS  CANNOT  BE  CONSIDERED  AS  ENOUGH  EXERCISE  EXPECTING  IN HARD WORKING  LABOUR  OR  FARMER .

ONE  MAY  WALK  BRISKLY  FOR  6 HRS  EVERYDAY  BUT  HIS  SPINE  DOES  NOT  GET  ANY  EXERCISE  AND  IN  A  FEW  YEARS  HIS  KNEE  CARTILAGE  WILL BE WORN OUT  IRREVERSIBLY  REQUIRING  KNEE  REPLACEMENT.

CAUSES  OF  OBESITY :-

1. LACK  OF  CONSCIOUSNESS :-

ONE  DOES  NOT  BECOME  HEAVY  OVERNIGHT , NO  ONE  REALISES  THAT  OBESITY  IS  A DISEASE  UNTIL  ONE  DEVELOPS  PAINFUL KNEES , SUGAR PROBLEMS  ,  HIGH  BLOOD  PRESSURE  OR  BACKACHE.

2. SEDENTARY  LIFE :-

LACK  OF  EXERCISE  IS  ONE  OF  THE  IMPORTANT  FACTORS  CONTRIBUTING  TO  OBESITY

3. RICH  FOOD:-

DRUGS DO NOT CURE DISEASE, DISEASE IS ALWAYS CURED BY THE NATURE

ALL MEDICINES WHICH ENTER THE CIRCULATION , POISON THE BLOOD IN THE SAME MANNER AS DO POISONS THAT PRODUCE DISEASE
                                                                                           -Prof. Jos. M. SMITH M.D.

FASTING, DIRECTED AND CONTROLLED, IS THE CURE, AND ONLY CURE, OF ALL THE SO CALLED INCURABLE ( BY THE MEDICINE BUT CURABLE BY THE BODY ) DISEASES ON THE EARTH . THROUGH FASTING BODY BECOMES LIKE A NEW GLOVE WHICH WE CAN DRAW ON OVER THE REAL MAN WITHIN.
                                                                          - Dr. St. LOUIS ESTES

NO PROCESS OF TREATMENT , EVER INVENTED , FULFILLS SO MANY INDICATIONS FOR RESTORATION OF HEALTH AS DOES FASTING. ITS NATURE'S OWN PRIMAL PROCESS, HER FIRST REQUIREMENT IN NEARLY ALL THE DISEASES
                                                                               - Dr. ROBERT WALTER

THERE IS NO DANGER IN A PROPERLY DIRECTED FAST - THE SIMPLEST AND SUREST OF ALL CURATIVE MEASURES.
                                           - Dr. WEGER

THERAPEUTIC FASTING MEANS THAT WE DEPRIVE THE SICK MAN OF SOLID FOOD. GIVING FOOD TO A SICK MAN DOES HIM NO GOOD, INFACT , IT DOES HIM HARM. THE MORE YOU NOURISH A SICK BODY, THE WORSE YOU MAKE IT.
                                                                                          - CARRINGTON

TAKE AWAY FOOD FROM A SICK MAN'S STOMACH AND YOU HAVE BEGUN , NOT TO STARVE THE SICK MAN , BUT THE DISEASE.

ALL MEDICINES ARE POISONOUS

NATUROPATHY IS THE SCIENCE , ART AND PHILOSOPHY OF ADJUSTING THE FRAME WORK , CORRECTING THE MENTAL INFLUENCES AND SUPPLYING THE BODY WITH ITS NEEDED ELEMENTS.
                             -Dr. J.E.CUMMINS

THE HUMAN BODY HAS ONE ABILITY , NOT POSSESSED BY ANY MAN MADE MACHINE. THE ABILITY TO REPAIR ITSELF. THE BODY NEVER LOSES ITS INHERENT ABILITY TO RECUPERATE , IF YOU GIVE IT A CHANCE.
                                                          - Dr. GEORGE CRILL

A HEALTHY BODY IS IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT TRANQUILITY , CHEERFULNESS AND ENERGY OF MIND
                             - HARRY

MALNUTRITION OR BAD FOOD , SHOWS UP IN WEAKNESS , LOWERED RESISTANCE , SHORTENED LIFE , GREATER DEGENERATION , LESSENED POTENCY AND REDUCED FERTILITY, MORE MENTAL AND NERVOUS IMPAIRMENT AND AN INCREASING TENDENCY FOR DEGENERATIVE CONDITIONS TO DEVELOP EARLIER IN LIFE
                                                                                                                           - H.M.SHELTON

The Naturopathic medicine is based on the concept of treating the body with Panchamahabhuthas that is Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether which forms the basic constituents of the body. These elements are used to revitalize and rejuvenate the body and strengthen the immune system against the disease causing agents present in and around him.

    1. sit in a comfortable position .

eg. Padmasana , Siddasana ,Sukhasana, vajrasana, siddayoni asana

    1. Spine should be straight ( steady body makes a steady mind )
    2. Love for the God

    (sukha purvaka pranayama )

    1. One should face to east or north because SURYA BHAGAWAN is in the east and HIMALAYA’S SADHUS in the north
    2. One may also sit infront of Istadevatas
    3. One can concentrate in TRIKUTTI i.e. in between two eye brows.
    4. Repetition of the name of GOD is known as JAPA which is used for getting concentration before Meditation . this again of two types i.e. 1, Japa sahita Dhyana 2, Japa rahita Dhyana
    5. Trataka : It is a fixed way of meditation , it needs a time of 3-6 months practice

    A. Meditator

    B. Object of meditation ,

    C. Process of meditation to nirvikalpa samadhi

Ex. Seeing Lord Krishna from feet to top & remembering his

    9. One should avoid south direction .

    10. One should not meditate on evil things . ex. You should not meditate on snake ,if you do that you will become snake in the next birth .

According to Bhagavad Gita -what you think about during your death time will continue to the next birth . “punarapi jananum punarapi maranum” – Sankara charya .

    PROCESS OF MEDITATION :

    • During meditation one may get different colours like blue, green, sun, moon etc. are the positive indication of meditation .

Sometimes ,Some internal sounds are also heard like musical tones – of veena ,mrudangam , or sounds of thunder .

    · You may also get the vision of saints like vyasa ,kapila , etc who will give their blessing to us . during this time there is no consciousness of external world (time factor ).breathing slows down ,and will observe a natural kumbaka , you will have the peace and joy of mind ,body and both becomes light – which is known as nirvikalpa samadhi .

    SAMASYAS OF MEDITATION.

    • In the morning one feels drowsy due to thamasic nature , to avoid this you should take less food in the night . samasyas of meditation are like fear, doubtfulness or memories of the past- they have come only to go away so keep continue your meditation .lethargy or lazyness should not come while you are in meditation , should not postpone it .
    • To over come these samasyas one should do meditation in early morning i.e. brahmamuhurtum which is good time to do meditation or one can also practice it in the evenings also.
    • One should do meditation at same time & at same place because vibration& calmness remains in the same place where we have meditated previously , and

    · The asana in which we are meditating should also be the same every time which will enhances the meditation , regularity is must ,practicing Astanga yoga – purity of mind , selfless service . Do good be good , try to remember GOD always in our thoughts , all these will aid us to reach final stages of meditation i.e. nirvikalpa samadhi .

    · Do not have too many desires , too many desires will disturb the concentration .

    · Avoid tamasic & rajasic foods which will makes you sleepy , and tensed , also avoid intoxicated foods , too much tamarind ,onion is worst than meat, fish .

    · One should have good health .

    · One should have little detachment of life
